  • Then many of my favorite themes!!! I loved this. I don't want to wait a whole year for the next! Which also plays into a trope I adore!

I did think information technology weird that Bowen and Genevieve both thought they "had" to be separated, even when they both told each other they loved each other. I kinda made the last little bit of malaise feel manufactured. Merely still, overall, great! (4.5 stars)

p.south. This book has stood upwards on many a re-read! (December 2016)

  • Closer to three and one/2 stars. I actually liked Genevieve's strength and felt bad for all the things she endured. Bowen was the perfect hero to heal her spirit, very tender and patient. I liked the first half of this story, merely it lost steam afterward that. I remember the problem was how many times Bowen and Genevieve rehashed the same inner thoughts...over and over and over...and over. I grew bored. Information technology wasn't until Bowen took her back to Montgomery Keep that I reconnected with the story. Loved the human relationship that developed betwixt the 3 women. I'll continue with the series though. I'm intrigued past Taliesan and eager to read her story when it's published.

  • This historical romance was a very captivating story. The heroine's torture brought on pretty stiff emotions merely I felt satisfied with the resolutions at the end. Some inconsistent behavior unraveled as well boring and I peeked ahead. Bowen is sent to run captured association and encounters Genevieve who bears an ugly scar on her face.

  • This book was So depressing. I just finished the McCabe trilogy, and this is a new series from Maya Banks. I similar the author and her writing fashion, but this story was so heavy. It focused on the female protagonist, Genevieve, who had been abducted and abused for a year. Her tormentor scarred her cheek for good measure and so no one could want her. This is the 2nd book in the trilogy, and I want to read the start and third book in hope that they are happier than this i. The male protagonist is gentle and kind, but they don't become out her terrible clan until chapter 20! They had a sweet courtship, only it was so dull. Her association, the one she was abducted to, threw rocks at her and chosen her names. I was more interested in the side graphic symbol Taliesan than the protagonist. Thankfully, Talie is the grapheme in tertiary book that doesn't come out until adjacent year. I likewise idea the theme throughout this series was each female was physically marred (deaf, facial and emotional scarred, and a limp) but wasn't affected on their kind nature. This volume wasn't very good, only I'm anxious for the commencement book to come in the mail (if it ever gets hither!).

  • Non impressed. The primary 'romance' arc was vastly overshadowed past the hints of Taliesin and Brodie, which I tin can only assume is a set-up for the side by side novel in this series. As well, as I had not read anything in this series prior to this (an ARC), I was definitely irritated past the lack of sufficient back story. The writer did a half-hearted effort to provide major salient plot points, simply I really felt lost for the first hundred pages or so.

  • I had higher hopes for this volume. While Bowen is a sexy and tender-hearted highlander, I was sort of bored. A lot of repetitive exposition and description -so much so I thought it was an editing upshot. I didn't buy the relationship either. Animalism and curiosity perchance, love, no. Besides Taliesan is a very annoying innocent character. She was way too bright eyed and sympathetic about to the point of seeming simple. I am dreading a book devoted to Brodie chasing later her. Yikes.
